Point of Sale in Odoo

Odoo POS (Point Of Sale) is the ideal all-in-one solution for managing your retail stores, restaurants, etc. It functions on all web-enabled devices, and works on both one-line & offline capabilities.Later the data need to sync for updation. You receive real-time statistics, automatic registration of product movements in your inventory, and data consolidation for all of your stores. The module is packed with features and practical tools that will help you build the ideal business management environment and ensure maximum effectiveness.

POS Dashboard

In the dashboard you can view the list of POS sessions which you have created in the system, or the list of sessions that are currently available, depending on your configuration.

Let’s click on New Session from Shop.

Opening Cash Control screen

To start a POS session, click Opening Cash Control screen ,here the Opening cash details (Last updated cash details ) will be displayed . Then click Open session to Continue Selling.

Selling Products

These are the products available in POS and you can either manually filter the items by clicking on particular categories on top or using a Barcode scanner machine, the items can be added to the cart.

The cart added items will get displayed in the same product listing screen on the left hand side as in the screen shot.

Item Calculating area

Automatically based on the barcode scanning, the Quantity & Price will get loaded or even the user can able to enter QTY & Price manually using the keypad.

There having also a provision to enter Discount, and for the same choose Disc and enter the details accordingly.

If you want to delete the price of an item, make sure the selection is on Price and click on the button. The Quantity and Discount also can be deleted in the same way.

Selecting Customers

The next step is adding a Customer. For that click on Customer.

List of Customers

These are the list of customers already created in the system, or if  you want to create a new customer, then click on the Create button and enter the details of the new customer. Later select that customer and click on Set Customer, to get added.

Payment

The next step is to make the payments. Once an order is completed, proceed to checkout by clicking Payment.

Payment methods

These are the list of payment methods available according to the configurations.Select any Payment Methods ( Cash,Card etc..), to enter the received amount, and then click Validate.

Order Receipt

Once the payment has been completed, the payment receipt will get loaded and then can able to take print of it.

You can click on New Order to return to the previous session or to place new orders.

Closing the Session

In order to post the entries, we have to close the session. 

Click Close in the top right corner of your screen to close the current session. By doing this, the Closing Control pop-up window appears.

This screen allows you to access a various informations:

• The number of orders placed and total amount made during the session.
• The expected amounts are arranged according to the payment method.

Use the calculator icon to total your funds before closing this window. 

By manually counting and adding the coins and bills, a pop-up window that calculates the total amount in the cash drawer appears. The window will then close after you click Confirm or Discard. In the Counted column, the calculated amount is displayed, and the Money Details are listed in the Notes section. Click Close Session to end the control of the amounts and return to the POS dashboard.
