Direct Sale in Odoo

Direct sale can be implemented for the fastest transaction scenarios. Normally when we create a Sale Order, the Delivery order and Invoice are processed separately. In case of Direct Sale, when we confirm the order, both Invoice and Delivery order will be created simultaneously. There are no separate steps for creating Invoice and Delivery which will make the transaction process quicker and easier.

Now let’s create a Sale Order.
We will add the Customer Name and the Product and we can select the lot we want.

Lot is a group of products of the same type which is used to identify the batch of products. Here there are 2 Lot numbers available for this product. If we want to specify which lot should be sold out there is an option to select the specific lot number to be sold out. If we manually specify the lot, it will break FIFO and work or by default it follows FIFO. Total amount will be shown including the Tax amount.

There is a ‘Sale Type’ option where we may specify the kind of sale we are proceeding with this order.

Here we have selected Direct sale.

If the Direct Sale is true, a Direct Sale button will appear on top. For Normal Sale, there won’t be an option like that, there will be a Normal Confirm button.

We can click on the Direct Sale button.

When we click on the Direct Sale button, we can see an Invoice and a Delivery order are created simultaneously.

Delivery Order

This is the delivery order against the sale Order. Here, BWS stands for Bill Without Stock, meaning that the option will be displayed as True if the delivery order is created without Stock. Since there is stock, the Delivery will proceed.

Invoice

This is the invoice against the Sale Order, The invoice will include the customer details and the amount that the customer owes. The payment can be registered once the customer has paid the invoice.

We can add the Bank Details and create the Payment

So the invoice status will become Paid.

Conclusion

Direct sale is a very simple and quicker process compared to the normal sale order. We may retrieve both the invoice and the delivery order with a single click. Since it is a time saving process, Direct Sale orders are more beneficial for quicker Transaction circumstances.
