Industry Experience to Students
There are many excellent technical institutions in our country, that provide top class facilities for their students, which include highly skilled faculties as well as labs with all innovative equipments. Such institutions deliver a lot of technically skilled individuals into the society. Leading companies in the market utilize these talents, where both the employee and employer are benefited alike. This scenario is the one that is widely accepted in our society, especially in IT industry. The high remunerations in the industry always prevent people from thinking out of the box. Its like people are unaware of any other options available or they like to believe that no other options exist. Such an ignored option is Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is one of the most appreciated things in many of the developed countries – the countries that we boast about always. Of course our government also has a lot of provisions to promote Entrepreneurship. Bodies to encourage and attract people towards Entrepreneurship. But our people are reluctant. What may be the cause behind this reluctance? Prime reason is the comfort of being an employee than an employer. Still there are people with visions, but lack direction. By the time a student has to make decisions regarding his future, he is bound with thousands of questions and lot of choices. Naturally the selection will be based on the questions that were answered convincingly. Ironically, the question, whether to be an Entrepreneur, will be the most perplexing one to get an answer and the first choice left out. Why? Because its not that easy to think about setting up a firm with ‘zero’ knowledge about the industry and the processes taking place inside the industry. After all its not just the technical skills that help you in setting up a company. Its all about the vision and how you accomplish it using the technical skills you possess. This is the context where a student requires help and support.
Zesty Beanz, a result of the so called student entrepreneurship, has identified a social cause of promoting young talents from campus in such situations. We believe that, providing an exposure to the industry will help students in making stern and distinctive decisions. As part of this belief, we started offering students some role in our selected projects. Obviously, Government Engineering College Sreekrishnapuram, the Alma mater of Zesty Beanz was the first choice. 5 students from fifth semester were chosen to be part of a project, that develops an ERP solution for Educational Institutions. These students are not involved in the development side of the project, since the intention of the program is not boosting the technical skills but the other aspects, starting from requirement study. We strongly believe that such an exposure will throw light on the future of these students and their decision making capacity.
